Weather in Armenia: High Thermal Background, Increased Fire Hazard, Above-Normal UV Radiation Intensity
Due to the inflow of tropical hot air currents from the Arabian deserts, extremely high thermal conditions are expected across the entire territory of the Republic on June 27 and 28. In the Ararat valley and its foothills, the foothills of Vayots Dzor, the lowland areas of Syunik, and Yerevan, daytime temperatures are expected to reach +38 to +39 degrees Celsius. This was reported by the Ministry of Environment.
From June 27 to July 2, high fire hazard conditions are also anticipated in these regions. The intensity of ultraviolet radiation is expected to be above normal. It is advised to avoid direct sunlight exposure from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
In Yerevan, dry weather is expected today and on June 28. Short-term rain and thunderstorms are expected in various parts of the city on June 29-30 and the evening of July 1 and 2. In the evenings, winds are expected to strengthen to 15-20 m/s.
