Armenian Men’s Tennis Team Defeats Azerbaijan in Davis Cup Match
In the ongoing Davis Cup Europe Group IV tournament in Skopje, North Macedonia, the Armenian men’s tennis team faced off against Azerbaijan, emerging victorious with a 2:1 scoreline.
In the first match, Sedrak Khachatryan secured a convincing win over Elvin Hashimov with a score of 6:3, 6:0. The match lasted 1 hour and 36 minutes.
In the second match, Mikael Avetisyan lost to Tamerlan Azizov, with scores of 5:7, 4:6, after a 1 hour and 51 minute battle.
In the doubles match, Sedrak Khachatryan and Henrik Nikoghosyan competed against Tamerlan Azizov and Elvin Hashimov, claiming victory with scores of 6:4, 1:6, 6:1. This match took 1 hour and 48 minutes.
In the first round, the Armenian team had also defeated the Albanian team with a score of 2:1. Group A also includes the Montenegrin team, which has won against both Azerbaijan and Albania in its previous two matches. The tournament is set to conclude on June 26.
