The 'Armenia' Alliance Issues a Statement

The 'Armenia' alliance has issued a statement: 'Yesterday, on June 23, the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction approved the request of the Special Investigative Service to imprison Armen Charchyan, a member of the 'Armenia' alliance and director of Izmirlian Medical Center, Doctor-Professor.'

The 'Armenia' alliance evaluates this act as an evident political persecution, asserting that the authorities remain committed to the style of extreme lawlessness that has persisted for the past three years.

Lawyers for Armen Charchyan have submitted an urgent request to the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia, Artur Davtyan, asking him to exercise his discretionary powers to annul the detention as a preventive measure.

We inform you that today, on June 24, at 17:00, a protest action will take place in front of the Prosecutor's Office.'
