Three Charges Filed Against Individual Who Shot at Babajanyan's Car

On June 20, the day of the parliamentary snap elections, Nikolay K. has been charged for shooting at the car of prime ministerial candidate Arman Babajanyan. This information was provided to the Hraparak newspaper by Vardan Tadevosyan, spokesperson for the Investigative Committee of Armenia.

Tadevosyan noted that Nikolay K. has been charged under Article 185, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Armenia (deliberately destroying or damaging another's property), Article 235, Part 1 (illegally acquiring or carrying weapons, ammunition, explosives, or explosive devices), and Article 34-305 (attempted murder of a state official).

In response to a question about whether a motion for the suspect's pre-trial detention has been filed, the spokesperson replied that the individual has already been arrested. It should be noted that today marks the end of the 72-hour period following the arrest, and if the investigative body does not submit a motion for detention to the court, the suspect will be released.

As previously reported, the individual who shot at Babajanyan's car has been detained.
