They Are Not Related: The Wife of the Vet from Isahakyan Village on the Cause of Her Husband's Death
The veterinarian from Isahakyan village in the Shirak province, Rustam Simonian, reportedly committed suicide. In a conversation with ArmDаily.am, the village's administrative leader Artavazd Arsenyane noted that he spoke with Simonian's wife. “The wife said that he had attempted this step a month ago; he had also tried to hang himself then. I can’t say what the reason was; I don’t know, and the wife didn’t say either. As for linking the veterinarian's suicide to the cases of anthrax spread in the village, I think they are not related,” he stated.
He also informed that Simonian left a note before his suicide. “He wrote that we should not blame anyone for his actions; he is ending his life,” he added. It is noteworthy that on June 30 and July 1, seven residents of Isahakyan village were hospitalized with a diagnosis of anthrax. Their health condition is assessed as satisfactory.
