Pashinyan Promises 500,000 Dram Reward for Citizens Documenting Electoral Bribery Cases
The Civil Contract party is promising a significant monetary reward to those who can capture and present incidents of electoral bribery during this phase. This announcement was made today by Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a pre-election meeting in Vayots Dzor.
“Currently, five individuals have been arrested in connection with electoral bribery. This means they are now in a correctional facility and will remain there for the next two months. As for the penalties, we have notably increased them for electoral bribery offenses. Different measures have been chosen for ten defendants by the investigators, and an additional 40 individuals are under suspicion. Thus, as of now, we have 55 people involved in electoral bribery cases. Law enforcement promises to bring us a substantial yield in the coming days. However, I want to make that yield even more abundant and make this announcement,” Pashinyan stated.
The Civil Contract party is offering a reward equivalent to $1,000, specifically 500,000 dram, for citizens who document attempts to give or receive electoral bribes. Furthermore, those who record attempts by state or non-state institutions, as well as local government bodies, to exert illegal influence on voters will also receive 500,000 dram for each such recording,” Pashinyan announced.
