Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry has admitted that the Armenian soldier was not a saboteur but was simply lost. Arthur Katanian will be returned to the Armenian side.

“As a result of further investigation, it has been revealed that Arthur Katanian, a soldier of the Armenian armed forces, detained on June 8 in the Kashatagh region bordering Armenia and Azerbaijan, did not enter Azerbaijani territory for sabotage purposes. It has been confirmed that he crossed the Azerbaijani border after losing his way. Considering the above, A. Katanian has been returned to the Armenian side,” the statement from the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reads.
