Suspect in Attempted Murder in Shengavit Has Been Found
On the evening of May 25, a 27-year-old resident of Bagratunyats Street in Yerevan was admitted to the "Shengavit" Medical Center. He had been diagnosed with a gunshot wound.
The police reported that at 7:30 PM, information about the incident was received at the Shengavit police station. The young man was taken to the hospital from Bagratunyats Street. Operative groups from various units of the police, including the main department of criminal police, were dispatched to the hospital and the scene of the incident.
The victim’s "BMW" was discovered in the yard of building 21 on 4th Alley of Bagratunyats Street. There were traces of gunfire on the vehicle. Investigative teams and forensic experts also arrived at the scene to examine the area. No fired cartridges were found.
It was suggested that shots had been fired at the victim’s vehicle from the interior of another vehicle. This version was later confirmed through operational-intelligence measures.
Thanks to the coordinated work of various police departments, hours after the incident, the identity of the suspect was established. Measures were initiated to locate a 40-year-old man residing in Yerevan.
On June 5, he was declared wanted. In parallel with the search efforts, explanatory work was carried out. On June 21, the wanted individual presented himself to the Shengavit police station.
The preliminary investigation of the criminal case and measures to locate the firearm used in the crime are ongoing.
