Lavrov and Bayramov Discuss Artsakh Issue
The Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov discussed the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh during a phone conversation on June 23. This was reported by the official website of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
They addressed several topics, particularly regarding the resolution of humanitarian issues in Nagorno-Karabakh, in the context of the trilateral agreements made by the leaders of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan on November 9 and January 11. The important contribution of the trilateral working group, established under the joint presidency of the Deputy Prime Ministers of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan, was emphasized in addressing the region's development in the post-conflict period.
On November 9, 2020, the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Russia signed a trilateral statement, establishing a ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh. The trilateral statement signed on January 11, 2021, confirmed the readiness of the leaders of the three countries to unblock economic and transport links in the region.
