For the First Time Since World War II, U.S. Military Aircraft Operate from Foreign Carrier - CNN
For the first time since World War II, American military aircraft have taken to the skies not from their own carrier. This was reported by CNN.
The F-35B fighter jets launched from the British aircraft carrier Queen Elizabeth have specifically targeted ISIS militants located in the Middle East. The exact location of these operations has not been disclosed, but it has been noted that British aircraft also participated in the operation.
In total, 18 American and British fighter jets are stationed on the Queen Elizabeth carrier. CNN reports that the last time U.S. military aircraft operated from a carrier that was not their own was in the distant year of 1943.
