548 People Die from Coronavirus in One Day in Russia, a Record Since February 11

The number of coronavirus-related deaths in Russia has increased by 548 in one day, up from 546 the previous day, marking a new high since February 11. This data follows the information published by the federal operational headquarters for combating the new infection on June 23.

According to the headquarters, the total number of deaths in the country since the beginning of the pandemic has reached 130,895. The conditional mortality rate from the disease has remained at 2.44 percent, with definitive determinations possible only after the end of the pandemic.

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the country has increased by 17,594 in the last 24 hours, compared to 16,715 the day before, bringing the total to 5,368,513. In relative terms, this represents a 0.33 percent increase in the number of infections.

As of now, there are 335,508 active cases in Russia. The number of recoveries in one day has risen by 12,660, which is the highest since March 13. In total, 4,902,110 people have recovered so far. According to the headquarters’ data, the share of recovered patients has decreased to 91.3 percent of the total number of infections, TASS reported.
