Bayramov States That a 'Unique Opportunity' Has Emerged for Normalizing Relations Between Yerevan and Baku

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, stated in an interview with Turkish TRT World that a unique opportunity has emerged for normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

“We must focus on reality, and the reality is that for the first time since independence, a unique opportunity has arisen for normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Why do I say for the first time? Because the fact of 'occupation' (quotation marks added) no longer exists.

There has been nearly 30 years of enmity, occupation, losses, and the consequences of war. But we believe we should look to the future. You know, it is not easy for us, as the memory revives everything that has happened. However, the President of Azerbaijan has emphasized the necessity for normalization of relations. Azerbaijan is ready to work with Armenia towards signing a peace agreement. We propose this initiative. We expect political will and tangible steps from Armenia,” Bayramov stated.
