A new phase has begun in the relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan with the signing of the Shushi Declaration, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced in a message to the Turkish nation following a cabinet meeting, according to Turkish media.
“In addition to bringing life to Karabakh, we are also taking measures in accordance with the spirit of one nation, two states, so that our Azerbaijani brothers do not see such disasters again. After signing the Shushi Declaration with my brother Aliyev and announcing it to the world, we have entered a new phase in our relations,” Erdoğan said.
According to him, “very soon, Turkey and Azerbaijan will sign many agreements within the framework of the declaration, thereby strengthening the legal foundation of the brotherhood between the two countries.”
“From the rapid opening of our main consulate in Shushi to the upcoming launch of the Zangezur corridor, we will decisively and swiftly implement every point on our agenda. At the meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council, which we will hold in our country in the coming months, we plan to take very concrete steps regarding these issues,” he stated.
