An NSS Border Troops Serviceman Involved in Fatal Hit-and-Run Incident

On June 22, a fatal hit-and-run incident occurred in the Lori region. At approximately 10:00 AM, 22-year-old Arthur Nazaryan, a resident of Stepanavan, struck 70-year-old Samvel Mehrabyan, a citizen of the Republic of Belarus, with his VAZ 21121 vehicle on Yerevan Street in Tashir.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the driver did not flee the scene but instead called the 'Tashir' medical center and assisted in transporting the injured party there. While law enforcement was investigating the scene, the Tashir police received a notification from the hospital that the victim had died around 10:50 AM.

As per G. Shamshyan's information, driver A. Nazaryan serves in the border troops of the National Security Service of Armenia as a contract serviceman.
