A Commission to Investigate the Course of the 44-Day War Has Been Established, Criminal Cases Have Been Initiated: Artak Davtyan
The Republic of Armenia has established a commission to investigate the course of the Artsakh 44-day war, as announced today by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia, Artak Davtyan, during a press briefing.
"It is actively working. Regarding the deserters during the war, a significant number of criminal cases have been initiated. I propose to await the results and conclusion of the cases," said Davtyan.
In response to questions about why Shushi fell so easily under the control of the adversary, Davtyan replied, "We are conducting a study, and I don't think we will provide an answer in the short term, as each episode and each accusation is associated with real people—military personnel who either must take responsibility or whose accusations should not be made lightly. We have not set a goal to blame anyone; our primary concern, particularly for the General Staff and the Ministry of Defense, is to draw lessons to examine all shortcomings and gaps and to make decisions based on those findings."
