Naira Zohrabyan Discusses Her Conversation with Azerbaijani Official

Naira Zohrabyan wrote on her Facebook page: “A short while ago in Strasbourg, I attempted to discuss the immediate and unconditional return of Armenian prisoners of war to Armenia with Samad Seyidov, the head of the Azerbaijani delegation, in the political group of European Conservatives and Reformists. Naturally, the head of the Azerbaijani delegation had a very skeptical expression and stated that there are no Armenian prisoners of war in Azerbaijan, and the rest are terrorists. Seyidov insisted that they have returned all prisoners of war.

I tried to explain to him that he perfectly understands that the boys have no connection to terrorism and sabotage, and they should be returned to Armenia as soon as possible. However, he started reciting all the most absurd theses of Azerbaijani propaganda.

By the way, Samad Seyidov also stated that 50 percent of the maps of the mined territories handed over to them are fake. In response to my observation that Armenia released murderers Shahbaz Guliyev and Dilham Askerov unconditionally, despite evidence that they had slaughtered Armenian youths, Seyidov had a ready answer in his pocket, claiming there is no evidence that they are murderers.

Seyidov also had no explanation as to why representatives of the Azerbaijani armed forces invaded the sovereign territory of Armenia since May 12. Essentially, Azerbaijan is currently not discussing the issue of handing over Armenian prisoners of war.

Therefore, I am firmly convinced that serious international sanctions should be imposed on that country, including the suspension of the Azerbaijani delegation's authorities and the freezing of Aliyev and his political clan’s European bank accounts, which I will discuss here today and tomorrow.”
