Arpine Hovhannisyan, the president of the NGO "Legal Education and Oversight," wrote on her Facebook page:
“Starting from 17:00, the heads of passport departments are systematically denying individuals the issuance of certificates based on which they can vote. They refer to Article 14, Part 2 of the Electoral Code of the Republic of Armenia, which is absolutely illegal. This is a crime, an unfounded obstruction of voting rights.
According to widespread reports, this directive was given directly by the police chief, and the format of the denial text was uniformly provided to everyone. In the image below, one example is shown, and the person whose rights have been violated is preparing to go to the Investigative Committee and file a report about the crime.
P.S. Anyone whose rights have been violated in this manner, please send me your information. All perpetrators and the organizer must stand before the court.”
