Car Catches Fire Near Police Checkpoint

On June 17, at 17:18, the National Crisis Management Center received reports of a car burning near the Noragavit police checkpoint in Yerevan.

Two fire and rescue crews from the Emergency Situations Ministry of Armenia's Yerevan Rescue Service were dispatched to the scene.

Before the rescuers arrived, the driver, V. Sh. (born in 1958), managed to exit the vehicle. The fire was contained by 17:32 and extinguished by 17:44.

The vehicle, a "Moskvich," was completely burned. The driver was hospitalized with burns to his hands and face at the National Burn Center.
