Cause of intestinal infection reported in two kindergartens

The Food Safety Inspection Body has revealed that children from the kindergartens "Winnie the Pooh and Friends" and "Rainbow," which are associated with the "National Center for Infectious Diseases" and "Muratsan" Medical Center in Yerevan, were poisoned after consuming sour cream and cottage cheese from the brand "Biokat." Anush Harutyunyan, the spokesperson for the Food Safety Inspection Body, informed Armtimes.com about this situation.

She noted that there have also been reports from other citizens regarding deteriorating health after consuming the same dairy products. "In accordance with the orders of the head of the FSIB, control measures and inspections have been initiated at the mentioned kindergartens, as well as at "Biokat" LLC. Samples have been taken from the food and dairy products available in the kindergartens and sent for laboratory examination. All products of cottage cheese and sour cream produced by "Biokat" on July 7 and July 8 have been recalled from the sales network and supply points," she said.

According to the tests conducted at the FSIB's Republican Veterinary and Sanitary and Phytosanitary Laboratory Services Center, it was found that the samples of cottage cheese and sour cream did not meet the sanitary standards based on indicators such as E. coli, Enterobacteriaceae, golden staphylococcus, and mold spores. Additionally, the investigation revealed that the dairy products for the "Winnie the Pooh and Friends" and "Rainbow" kindergartens had been delivered using the same vehicle, which had a malfunctioning refrigerator. Checks at "Biokat" LLC are ongoing, and some of the dairy production processes will be suspended.
