Ministry of Education Calls for Abstention from Political Propaganda in Educational Institutions
The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of Armenia calls on all political forces, as well as heads and staff of educational institutions, to consistently adhere to the requirements of Armenian legislation and refrain from conducting political propaganda in educational establishments.
At the same time, the ministry reminds that according to Article 4, part 8 of the Law on General Education, 'Political activities or propaganda are prohibited in educational institutions.' The ministry has sent relevant circulars to primary, vocational, and secondary educational institutions, requiring the exclusion of any political activities or propaganda, as well as the participation of students in politically related processes within these institutions.
Armenian citizens, including the heads and staff of educational institutions, have the right to engage in political activities, which they can exercise during non-working hours outside of their official duties.
It is noteworthy that today, the principal of a school in the village of Arevshat in the Ararat region took students and teachers to participate in Prime Minister Pashinyan's campaign during class hours.
