WHO Chief: 'The Lab-Leak Theory for Coronavirus Cannot Be Ruled Out'

The head of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, has spoken about the possibility of coronavirus leaking from a laboratory, as reported by Lenta.ru.

He noted that the lab leak of SARS-CoV-2 cannot be excluded. Ghebreyesus reminded that at least 174 million people have been infected with the coronavirus, and 3.75 million have died as a result.

"I believe that people deserve to know where the virus originated," he stated.

According to Ghebreyesus, there was a lack of necessary "transparency and cooperation" from China during the initial phase of the investigation into the origin of SARS-CoV-2.

"There have been difficulties in exchanging data, especially raw data," he concluded.
