VIDEO: Day 6. Firefighting Efforts Continue at the Nubarashen Landfill
Since June 8, the teams from the Yerevan Rescue Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations have been conducting firefighting efforts at the Nubarashen landfill. On June 13, three operational teams were dispatched to the site to continue firefighting operations.
It is reported that on June 8, at 10:04 AM, the National Crisis Management Center received information about a fire breaking out at the Nubarashen landfill in Yerevan. Six operational teams from the Yerevan Rescue Department and an operational group from the Firefighting and Rescue Operations Organization Department were sent to the scene. The fire was contained at 6:40 PM, and a monitoring operation was established.
On June 9 and 10, the firefighting team monitoring the site observed two new hotspots, one of which was extinguished, resulting in approximately 400 cubic meters of construction waste being burned. The second hotspot has been contained, and there is no danger of further spread.
The firefighting efforts involve five water tenders from the Yerevan Municipality, two dump trucks, five tractors, auxiliary vehicles (water tenders), two engineering units, and a dump truck.
