VIDEO: Citizens Voluntarily Surrender Weapons and Ammunition in Yerevan and Regions
The Criminal Investigation Department of the Charentsavan Police has conducted explanatory work among the population, resulting in a resident of the Karinis community voluntarily surrendering an "AK-47" assault rifle, a magazine, and 5.45mm caliber bullets.
The explanatory efforts of the Jambrak Police were also effective, with a resident from the Drahktik village surrendering an "AK-47" rifle that belonged to their late father. Due to the work of the patrol service unit from the Sevan Police, a resident of Lchashen village turned in a "TOZ" type shotgun along with 5.6mm caliber bullets.
A resident of Talin city handed over a grenade with a detonator and 320 bullets of 7.62mm caliber to the Talin Police, stating that the grenade and bullets were brought from Artsakh last year.
The community police officers from the Malatya division also conducted effective explanatory work, leading to a resident of the Ararat 1 neighborhood surrendering an "F-1" type grenade, its detonator, a shortened barrel shotgun, and 302 bullets of 5.45mm caliber.
Officers from the Erevan National Security Division also carried out successful explanatory work. A resident from the Vardashen district surrendered a homemade shotgun, a grenade with a detonator, magazines for firearms, and more than 70 bullets of various calibers.
Forensic examinations have been appointed. We urge citizens to voluntarily surrender illegal weapons and ammunition to the police to avoid criminal liability.
