My Step Alliance MP Vahagn Aleksanyan wrote on his Facebook page: “Yesterday, regarding an incident in the Arabkir administrative district, I find it necessary to present the full events. Member of the Civil Contract Party Hakob Arshakyan and four members of the party were conducting a campaign in one of the courtyards of Arabkir when a man from a conversing group insulted ALL politicians and political forces. The members of the Civil Contract Party called for decency and tried to explain that it is not right to measure everyone with one yardstick.

At that moment, about 10 young people, who were under the influence of alcohol, approached them. These 10 youths attempted to obstruct the Civil Contract Party’s campaign and used violence against its participants. However, it seems that due to their intoxication, they were easily subdued by the four members of the Civil Contract Party who resorted to appropriate self-defense. As a result of the incident, some of the 10 young people ended up in the hospital.

No member of the Civil Contract Party was injured or taken to the hospital. Immediately after the incident, they continued their campaign smoothly.”
