Geneva's Sky to Be Closed During Putin and Biden Meeting

Swiss authorities will close part of the country's airspace in connection with the meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Joe Biden in Geneva on June 16.

“In a meeting held on June 11, the Federal Council approved a temporary restriction on the use of airspace during the meeting between President Biden and President Putin from June 15 to 17 in Geneva,” stated a government announcement.

It is noteworthy that this will be the first in-person meeting between Putin and Biden since the latter assumed the presidency of the United States. Furthermore, this will mark President Putin's first foreign trip in the past year and a half.
