Azerbaijan's Ministry of Defense Statement on Yesterday's Border Incident

On Thursday, the Armed Forces of Armenia opened fire on units of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan along the border between the two countries, specifically in the direction of the Kelbajar region. The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan reported that there were no casualties or injuries among its personnel.

The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan has blamed Armenia for the incident. It is noted that the Armenian side had previously reported that on June 10, Azerbaijani armed forces attempted once again to carry out engineering work in a border area of the Gegharkunik region of Armenia. The Armenian armed forces conducted countermeasures, forcing them to halt their activities, to which the Azerbaijani side responded with gunfire towards the Armenian positions. Armenian border guards returned fire, and there were no reported injuries on the Armenian side.
