After the Elevator Meeting, Aliyev 'Flicked This Fool on His Finger' and Started Doing His Business: Serzh Sargsyan

The security system is completely collapsed today. At the same time, we must remember that this erosion started from here, from Vayots Dzor in May 2018, when the Azerbaijanis took advantage of the coup d'état that occurred in our country and advanced significantly along the border with Nakhichevan.

This was stated today by the third President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, during the campaign of the 'Honorary Title Coalition' in the Vayots Dzor region. He noted, 'At that time, 2500 hectares, that is, 25 km², went out of our control. As a result, the Azerbaijanis have targeted several sections of the road from here to Yerevan. You all know that part of our population is currently under fire.'

During the meeting, the third president recalled the elevator meeting, saying, 'Aliyev 'flicked this fool on his finger' and started doing his business. Since then, the process of collapsing our security system has been set in motion. Do you remember how these shameless and dishonorable individuals spread rumors among the people that we should give up Artsakh so that we can live peacefully in Armenia, even though we tried to explain that the soldier called up from Gyumri, from Lori, and from various parts of our Republic, is protecting the borders of Armenia.'

According to Sargsyan, as long as the current authorities have the ability to give orders to the army, our army will not be able to be combat-ready. 'If we do not have a combat-ready army, we cannot have a security system. God forbid, this process will be disrupted by the results of the elections so that those who come to power can restore the Armed Forces.'

The third president emphasized that the security system must be restored from where it started to erode, meaning from the Vayots Dzor region.
