The US and Russia Begin Large-Scale Military Drills

Today, large-scale military exercises of the Russian naval forces have begun in the Pacific Ocean, involving several dozen warships, including the Pacific Fleet's flagship, the Varyag cruiser.

Also participating in the exercises are over 20 military aircraft, including Tu-142 bombers and MiG-31BM fighters. The overall command of the exercises is being conducted by the commander of the Russian Pacific Fleet, Admiral Sergey Avakyants.
