Questions Regarding Yerevan State University's Parking Lot, Not the 'Black Building'
The information circulated in the media that the State Property Management Committee of Armenia is planning to alienate the 'Black Building' located at 52 Abovyan St., Yerevan, does not reflect reality. The State Property Management Committee has refuted the claims.
The issue of the alienation of the 'Black Building' of YSU has never been discussed in the Committee. In fact, the discussion pertains to a 197.27 square meter section, marked in the floor plan of the adjacent land parcel as primarily serving as a parking lot and not used for any other purpose, as evident from the attached photographs.
The inquiry submitted by Karen Hekimyan, the head of the 'Human Rights Defender' NGO, exclusively concerned the parking lot adjacent to the 'Black Building' at 52 Abovyan St., Yerevan, and not the 'Black Building' itself. We have responded that discussions involving all interested parties are being conducted to ascertain the appropriateness of alienating this section. We emphasize that this discussion does not imply any decision regarding the alienation of this section.
We urge all individuals interested in the effective management of state property not to spread misinformation combined with their unfounded interpretations. In such cases, to receive credible information, please contact the State Property Management Committee.
