I Have Brought Former Leaders of Armenia to Present Them to the Judgment of the People – Pashinyan

“It is a well-known fact that this square holds special significance in my life and in our lives,” said Nikol Pashinyan, the acting Prime Minister of Armenia and leader of the Civil Contract party, during a massive rally that took place in Gyumri's Vardanants Square. He recalled the start of the Velvet Revolution in 2018.

Pashinyan noted that during this period, we have endured very difficult and challenging times. Therefore, before announcing the next phase, he wants to ask for forgiveness from all gathered citizens, from the Armenian people both in Armenia, the diaspora, and Artsakh, for all the shortcomings, missed opportunities, and failures that have occurred during this time.

“And here I have come to say that I am now at the mercy of you, the citizens of the Republic of Armenia, and on June 20, you will make the decision. But I want to talk about one important feature: I have brought your past leaders to present them to your judgment, and this is a historical moment where the people must express their views on the past, present, and future. But I know one thing; yes, the 2018 revolution, in fact, was delayed, and perhaps that is my greatest fault because there could have been a chance to do it earlier, and perhaps events would have unfolded differently,” declared the candidate for the Prime Minister from the Civil Contract party.
