Attack by Red Berets in Gyumri: Coordinator of the 'Armenia' Alliance Claims Assault

In Gyumri, Shirak Province, at approximately 20:20, Red Berets accompanying Nikol Pashinyan attacked members of the 'Armenia' alliance headquarters. This information was shared with 'Hraparak' by Karapet Poghosyan, the regional coordinator of the 'Armenia' alliance and head of the 'Reviving Armenia' party's regional office.

“About 5-6 Red Berets attacked us near Khachaturov Sukiasyan. They were assaulted in front of the alliance's headquarters in Gyumri. They staged the entire event. Some provocateur yelled 'traitors' at Pashinyan while Grrzo was approaching and was seemingly yelling reminders,” Poghosyan detailed.

He added that from the words, accents, and insults of the berets, it was clear they were not locals from Gyumri. “In general, no guy from Gyumri—regardless of whether he is a policeman or whatnot—would allow himself such rude behavior knowing he would face consequences. They were Red Berets who came from Yerevan. There has been talk in the media that Grrzo has relevant berets who try to carry out such so-called punitive actions. I am confident they were part of that group,” he emphasized.

Poghosyan stated that he sustained an injury to his chest during the attack and is going to the hospital.
