Prosecutor's Office Provides Details on Video of Armenian Soldier Being Beaten

The video of an Armenian soldier being beaten pertains to an incident that took place on June 2 in the border area of Verin Shorzha. The adviser to the Prosecutor General, Gor Abrahamyan, made a Facebook post stating, "I find it necessary to clarify that the incident regarding the beating of an Armenian soldier is not recent, as suggested by the post from the original Telegram channel and echoed by various media or users. This refers to the incident that occurred on June 2 in the border area of Verin Shorzha.

There was a confrontation between the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, who illegally crossed into the area, and Armenian soldiers conducting engineering work on-site. During this altercation, two Armenian soldiers were beaten and sustained bodily injuries by Azerbaijani military personnel. The video relates to the incident with one of these soldiers.

Based on the prepared materials, a criminal case has been initiated today at the military prosecutor's office of the Sevan garrison, under article 300.2 and part 2 of article 329 of the Armenian Criminal Code.
