Photos: Major Fire in Stepanakert, Homes Destroyed
Today, on June 8th, at 18:37, the 911 emergency service received a call reporting that two apartments were simultaneously on fire in the Armenavan neighborhood of Stepanakert. Immediately after receiving the call, three fire-fighting units and a rapid response team were dispatched to the scene, led by Colonel Mekhak Arzumanyan, the head of the Emergency Situations State Service.
It was revealed that the fire, which broke out under unknown circumstances at 29 V. Hambardzumyan Street, quickly spread to an adjacent private house. Firefighters made every effort to extinguish the flames. The house at 29 V. Hambardzumyan Street was completely destroyed, while the neighboring apartment suffered partial damage.
Notably, officials from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, police, and the city administration of the Emergency Situations State Service in Stepanakert arrived at the scene, along with personnel from the Stepanakert city hall led by the mayor, a team from the Emergency Medical Assistance Station, and representatives from Artsakhgaz, Artsakhenergo, and the local sewage company.
No injuries were reported from the fire. The incident is being investigated by the Fire Safety and Technical Security Inspection of the Emergency Situations State Service.
