Azerbaijanis Will Be Able to Capture Hundreds of Armenian Soldiers as Long as There Is No Resistance – Norat Ter-Grigoryants

Azerbaijanis can capture hundreds of Armenian soldiers. This was stated in an interview with "Factinfo" by the former chief of staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Norat Ter-Grigoryants.

As reported, another Armenian soldier's capture was officially confirmed today. "On June 8, due to fog, contract service member Private A. Katanyan from N military unit was unable to orient himself and found himself in an area controlled by Azerbaijani armed forces," declared the Ministry of Defense. Prior to this, on May 27, the capture of 6 Armenian soldiers had been announced.

Ter-Grigoryants noted that such incidents are possible as long as there is no resistance. He emphasized that the Azerbaijanis are taking advantage of the chaos prevailing in Armenia and are moving forward. "Why did he allow the Azerbaijanis to get so close? Why, when provocations began in Tavush, did the Armenian side immediately start firing? The commander gives the order not to fire, but he does not know what is happening at the positions. Before giving such orders, one must remember the articles of the Constitution. However, even today, the head of state does not follow those articles. The Armed Forces of Armenia must ensure the safety of the country in the face of external threats," emphasized the lieutenant general.

Ter-Grigoryants noted that the army is taking no action regarding this situation. "If there is any violation, fire should be opened; in such cases, no one gives orders," he stated.
