43 Police Officers Posthumously Awarded with 'Combat Cross', 'For Valor', and 'Combat Service' Medals

On June 8, a solemn award ceremony took place at one of the police forces' units, attended by the President of the Republic of Artsakh, Arayik Harutyunyan, and the Chief of Police of the Republic of Armenia, Vahe Ghazaryan. Present were the Minister of Internal Affairs of Artsakh, Karen Sargsyan, Commander of the Police Forces, Haik Babayan, high-ranking officials, family members of the fallen officers, and serving personnel.

During the 44-day Artsakh war, 43 officers from this police unit lost their lives. They fought to the end and became immortalized on the outskirts of Shushi.

The opening speech was delivered by the deputy commander of the unit, Artashes Mughnetzyan. A moment of silence was observed, followed by the national anthem of the Republic of Armenia.

43 police officers were posthumously awarded the 'Combat Cross', 'For Valor', and 'Combat Service' medals, which were presented to their parents, children, and wives.

Following the award ceremony, a presentation was made on the history and combat path of the police forces unit.

Father Vrtanes Khahanyan offered a prayer of commemoration and remembrance, after which the 'Path of Eternity' honor corner was opened.

Honor to all police officers who died for the homeland. Their feats are immortal, and their names are in our hearts.
