At least 18 people have died and several are missing due to a fire that broke out at a chemical plant in the industrial area near Pune, India.

According to reports from Armenpress, citing RIA Novosti, this information was provided by the city’s fire department. “At this moment, we have found 14 bodies,” a representative of the service told NDTV.

When the fire broke out, there were 37 people working in the facility, which produces disinfectants. Of them, 20 have been rescued. According to preliminary data, the cause of the fire was a short circuit. Eight fire trucks are currently engaged in extinguishing the fire.
