After the session of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) concerning the disciplinary action against judge Vardan Grigoryan, Rustam Badasyan, the Acting Minister of Justice of Armenia, held a private conversation with Gagik Jhangiryan, the interim president of the SJC.
As previously reported, the first session regarding the motion to impose disciplinary responsibility on judge Vardan Grigoryan took place today at the SJC, attended by Rustam Badasyan.
After the SJC meeting concluded and all parties and attendees had exited the building, Rustam Badasyan returned for approximately one hour. During this time, reporters from "Factinfo" and lawyers outside the SJC noted that other council members were seen leaving the building, leading to the question of what matters the Acting Minister of Justice, who is a party in the ongoing disciplinary proceedings at the SJC, needed to discuss with Jhangiryan immediately after the session.
"Factinfo" reached out to the Ministry of Justice to clarify the topics discussed in the meeting with Gagik Jhangiryan, confirming that issues regarding the increase of positions in the courts and ensuring building conditions were addressed. It should be noted that no official announcement regarding the meeting has been issued.
