Murder of a Resident of Arevashogh Community Revealed
On June 5, 2021, at 01:40 AM, a call was received from the Spitak Medical Center reporting that on the same day, at 01:20 AM, a resident of the Arevashogh community, born in 1990, was admitted for medical assistance with the following injuries: a stab wound to the upper left thigh third, damage to the muscle sheath of the femoral artery, arterial bleeding, a stab wound to the right inguinal region, hemorrhagic anemic shock, agonal condition, and cerebral circulatory hypoxia. The patient died during surgery at 02:30 AM.
Preliminary data indicated that a dispute and scuffle had occurred between a group of individuals and the injured man at the beginning of the road leading from Spitak to Gyumri, during which he sustained the aforementioned injuries. During the investigation of the criminal case initiated by the Spitak investigative division of the Lori regional investigative department of the RA Investigative Committee, urgent and extensive measures were undertaken in collaboration with law enforcement officers to clarify various circumstances of the incident, including the identity of the person who allegedly committed the crime, who is also a resident of the same village. He has been arrested on suspicion of murdering his fellow villager under the characteristics of Article 104, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code.
Necessary investigative and other procedural actions have been carried out, including an examination of the crime scene, during which a knife, broken pieces of glass bottles were discovered, samples were taken, several individuals were questioned, and the clothing of the victim and persons present at the incident were confiscated. To clarify the nature of the bodily injuries inflicted on the young man, the mechanism of their occurrence, and other circumstances, a forensic examination of the body has been appointed. The investigation is ongoing. Measures are being taken to ensure a comprehensive and objective examination of all circumstances of the incident.
Notification: A person suspected or accused of a crime is considered innocent until proven guilty in the manner prescribed by the RA Criminal Procedure Code by a legally binding court judgment.
