Turkey Discovers New Large Natural Gas Field in the Black Sea, Erdogan
Turkey has discovered a new large natural gas field in the Black Sea with reserves exceeding 135 billion cubic meters. This was announced by the country's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The field was found by the Fatih drilling ship in the 'Amasra-1' well. As Erdogan noted, the total volume of natural gas reserves found by Turkey in the Black Sea has reached 540 billion cubic meters. Erdogan had previously reported the discovery of another field with a volume of 405 billion cubic meters in October 2020. Gas production from this location is planned to start in 2023.
