Meeting of Families of Captives and Ararat Mirzoyan Takes Place in a Tense Atmosphere
According to the newspaper "Hraparak," the case against the Armenian prisoners of war held in Azerbaijan has gone to court. The Armenian captives are accused of allegedly committing terrorism, provocations, and other crimes.
The criminal case against 14 Armenian prisoners will be heard in Baku's court for serious crimes. Yesterday, the relatives of the captives knocked on the doors of yet another state body and held a meeting in the National Assembly, which was attended by deputies from various factions and members of international delegations. Also present at the meeting was the head of the National Assembly, Ararat Mirzoyan.
Sources informed us that the meeting was conducted in a rather heavy and emotional atmosphere, with relatives directing a barrage of accusations toward the authorities, and Mirzoyan being the main target. He attempted to ease the tense situation, agreeing with the relatives' remarks that they feel powerless, incompetent, and are constantly being lied to about the handling of their issues.
Mirzoyan also stated that no matter what is said or what justifications are attempted, as long as the issue remains unresolved, such accusations will continue to be directed at them. One of the relatives conveyed to us after the meeting that they received no positive signals from the politicians: "On the contrary, we are more disappointed; we knock on a thousand doors, but our issue remains stagnant."
