Collision between a truck loaded with a Kia and a Nissan in Aragatsotn leaves 8 injured, 5 of them children
On June 4, a major traffic accident occurred in the Aragatsotn region. Around 18:00, on the Yerevan-Gyumri-Bavra highway, specifically at the 45 km mark within the administrative territory of Kosh village, a 70-year-old resident of Davtashen village, Valerik Petrosyan, collided while driving a Ford truck loaded with a Kia Forte without license plates, with a Nissan car driven by a 33-year-old resident of Agarakavan village, Roman Hakobyan.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, as a result of the accident, V. Petrosyan, R. Hakobyan, and his passengers—residents of Agarakavan village, 34-year-old Hamaspyur Hamazaspyan, 7-year-old Inga Poghosyan, 5-year-old Artyom Poghosyan, 4-year-old Alexandria Hakobyan, 11-year-old Sofia Hakobyan, and 2-year-old Anastasia Hakobyan—were transported to the 'Ashtarak' medical center with bodily injuries. After receiving first aid, the children were transferred to the 'Holy Mother of God' medical center, while the driver was taken to the 'Armenia' medical center.
Rescue workers disabled the vehicles, closed the gas cylinder valves, and then, with the help of police and citizens, managed to turn the overturned truck and the Kia that was resting on its roof back onto their wheels.
