Former Acting Head of NSS Responds to Arsen Torosyan
During a meeting with journalists today, Arsen Torosyan addressed the issue I raised regarding water supply to Stepanakert during the wartime and allowed himself an inappropriate expression. This was stated by the former acting head of the NSS, Mikael Hambardzumyan.
He specifically mentioned: “The human and moral character of my high-ranking security officer and, in general, my fellow citizens does not allow me to stoop to the level of an ordinary vulgarian. This official thinks that employees of the national security service should, under the conditions of intense wartime realities, refrain from their operational duties and carry water from Stepanakert to Yerevan every day for themselves so that they could conduct research while sitting in Yerevan.”
“Apparently, according to his perception, NSS employees, not being specialists, should determine where, how, with what frequency, and in what containers water samples should be taken. I understand why he believes that this task should also be placed on our employees—after all, it was with the strength of our boys that necessary equipment and supplies, weapons, ammunition, equipment, tents, and even bread production ovens and diesel engines were delivered to Artsakh day and night on behalf of many others.”
“It is obvious that this official has also organized the fight against the pandemic in this way. As a result of such ‘brilliant’ work, I am surprised that you have not yet been awarded the title of National Hero of Armenia. Or maybe you have, and you are just keeping it secret?”
“I just want to remind you that in the national security service, they know how to preserve the foundations of any fact.”
