The Role of Russian Peacekeepers Cannot Be Underestimated: Zakharova

Work is being carried out daily towards resolving the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh. This was stated by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, in an interview with Izvestia.

“Currently, consultations and negotiations are ongoing with the foreign ministers. We are communicating through foreign ministries and embassies literally every day. Reports about phone conversations between the foreign ministers’ leaders, both through Russia-Azerbaijan and Armenia, are regularly published... Our country has made enormous efforts to resolve this situation during both the hot phase and the post-conflict phase,” Zakharova stated.

According to her, this relates not only to political efforts but also to the diplomatic and personal efforts of the country's leadership. “And, of course, about our peacekeepers’ role, who invest their strength, soul, and abilities, professionalism, and skills every day to rectify the situation. So that political figures, diplomats, and public figures can perform their functions. For this reason, the role of Russian peacekeepers cannot be underestimated,” concluded the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
