Production and Sale of Industrial Hemp to Be Allowed in Armenia

The National Assembly of Armenia has fully adopted the bill allowing the production and sale of industrial hemp in its second reading. The package of draft laws amending the law on "Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances" received 68 votes in favor during the Assembly session.

According to the amendments to the law, the production of industrial hemp, its legal circulation, import, export, and wholesale trade are permitted.

The production, import, export, and wholesale trade of industrial hemp will be classified as a licensed activity. It is planned that these activities will be subject to quotas.
