Onik’s Son Worked Under My Command for 1.5 Years, I Did Not Know Who He Was. He Was One of the First Volunteers in the War: Mikael Hambardzumyan
Mikael Hambardzumyan, the former acting director of the National Security Service, discussed the work of former Chief of General Staff Onik Gasparyan during the war on the "ArmNews" channel today. "I personally know Onik Gasparyan and have a lot of respect for him as a person and as an officer. I have seen that he worked around the clock without leaving the headquarters; that was evident to me. To clarify a human characteristic, Onik Gasparyan's son worked directly under my command for about 1.5 years, and I did not even know that he was his son. This means that the individual served in the usual regime, like all other operational staff. Later, when we began the enlistment for those who would go to the front, one of the first to volunteer was indeed his son... I am confident that Onik will still speak, will present, and will bring forward his arguments. The military is the number one responsible entity for the war, bearing both the success and burden of defeats in the Ministry of Defense. They must tell us why we lost. My conviction is that one of the reasons was that we failed to transition our civilian life," he stated.
