Shooting in Central Yerevan: Body of Man with Gunshot Wounds Found Near 'Cinema Moscow'

A murder has occurred in Yerevan, as previously reported. At around 10:50, the operational management center of the Yerevan police received a call reporting a male body near 'Cinema Moscow' on Abovyan Street.

According to shamshyan.com from the crime scene, Yerevan police chief Sevan Kocharyan, deputy chief Arthur Zakaryan, and head of the criminal investigation department Hovhannes Aristakesyan rapidly arrived on site. An operational group from the central police department also arrived, headed by Chief Arman Papyan and Deputy Chief Nikoyan.

Investigators from the Central and Norq Marash administrative districts of the Armenian Investigative Committee are on-site, led by department head Simon Harutyunyan.

According to preliminary information, the man died as a result of gunshots. The police and investigative department are working to determine the identity of the deceased. A criminal case has been initiated under part 1 of Article 104 and part 1 of Article 235 of the RA Criminal Code.

At the crime scene, a Toyota Land Cruiser with Russian license plates belonging to the deceased was discovered, along with another Toyota Land Cruiser with Russian license plates next to it.
