Serzh Sargsyan's Nephew Acquitted: Court Issues Verdict

The Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction, presided over by Judge Anna Danibekyan, issued a verdict today, June 1, regarding the cessation of criminal prosecution against Haik Sargsyan, the nephew of the third President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan.

He faced charges under Article 34-104, Part 1 (attempted murder), and Article 235, Part 1 (acquisition and possession of weapons and ammunition) of the RA Criminal Code.

It is worth mentioning that in September 2018, the court accepted the motion of Haik Sargsyan's defense attorney and ruled that the bail be recognized as permissible.

Additionally, the prosecution had sought a seven-year prison sentence for Haik Sargsyan.
