Vagharshak Harutyunyan and Sergey Shoigu Discuss Armenian-Azerbaijani Border Tensions

On May 31, a phone conversation took place between Acting Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia Vagharshak Harutyunyan and Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, General Sergey Shoigu. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense.

The heads of the defense departments of the two strategic allied countries discussed the situation at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and the implementation of the agreements reached during last week's meeting in Moscow regarding the resolution of the situation.

The interlocutors also addressed the primary directions of the reforms initiated in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, the ongoing mission of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in the Republic of Artsakh, as well as several issues related to regional security challenges and collective actions to counter them.
