OSCE Ready to Support Parties to Ease Tensions, Says OSCE Chair
The OSCE is prepared to support Armenia and Azerbaijan in creating an atmosphere of trust to ease the heightened tensions along their border. As reported by the Swedish presidency of the OSCE, this was mentioned by the current chairperson of the organization, Sweden's Foreign Minister Ann Linde, during discussions with her counterparts from Armenia and Azerbaijan. She emphasized the importance of solving the issue through peaceful and diplomatic means.
“The current chair welcomes the willingness to resolve the situation peacefully and hopes that negotiations will continue, leading to a diplomatic solution as soon as possible. As noted by the OSCE chair in her conversations with the parties, the OSCE is ready to assist in building trust to alleviate tensions and create an environment in which the parties can constructively continue their negotiations,” the website stated.
