Dispute Among Classmates Ends in Stabbing
On May 28, 2021, at 19:50, a report was received from "Erebuni" medical center regarding an 18-year-old resident of Ayntap village who was transported with bodily injuries. This information was provided by the Information and Public Relations Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
During the preparation of materials, it was revealed that on May 28, around 18:30, in the intersection of Ayntap village in the Ararat region, a dispute arising from personal matters led to a 17-year-old resident of the same village stabbing his classmate twice with a folding knife, inflicting bodily injuries.
A criminal case has been initiated under the first part of Article 112 of the RA Criminal Code (causing serious harm to health intentionally), and the preliminary investigation is being conducted by the Masis Investigative Division of the Regional Investigative Department of Ararat.
The minor has been placed under the supervision of their parents as a precautionary measure. Several individuals have been interrogated in connection with the criminal case, and during a personal search of the suspect, the knife used in the crime was discovered and seized. The scene of the incident has been examined and seized, and forensic examinations have been appointed. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
Notification: The person suspected or accused of the alleged crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the law, by a court decision that has entered into legal force.
